School in Action - Sounds Write

SOUNDS WRITE

Sounds Write is a systematic approach to reading and writing. Prep – Grade 3 take part in this program for 20 minutes per day, 5 days a week. The students are in differentiated groups, to meet the individual child’s needs. For children to learn to read and write, it is essential they have both phonemic (saying of sounds) and phonological (hearing of sounds) awareness to be successful. These lessons are run in addition to the literacy hours.
