FOUNDATION (PREP) 2027 ENROLMENTS

The Department of Education has released the statewide Foundation (Prep) enrolment timeline for the 2027 school year.

This timeline outlines when and how to enrol your child in Foundation (Prep) at a Victorian government primary school, including Hamilton (Gray St) Primary School.  All government primary schools will follow this timeline throughout 2026 to support enrolments for the 2027 school year.

Families can access further information and resources, including factsheets and a poster, via the Enrolling in Foundation (Prep) section on the Department of Education website.

Families can submit enrolments for Foundation (Prep) 2027 at Hamilton (Gray St) Primary School from Monday 20th April 2026 until Friday 31st July 2026

How to enrol into 2027 Prep (Foundation)

  1. Arrange a tour with our Principal – Jane Langley
Options for tours:
    • Come to our Open Day Tours on Tuesday 5th Tour times are 9.15am, 11.30am or 2.15pm
    • Book an individual school tour – Contact our school via phone 55 71 9295 or email hamilton.ps.gray@education.vic.gov.au)
    • Attend the Parent Information Evening on Monday 4th May at 6.30pm
  1. Collect an Enrolment information package – available from Monday 20th April from the school office. This pack includes an enrolment form and various information about our school.

  2. Submit the enrolment form for Foundation (Prep) by Friday 31 July 2026.
  3. You will receive a confirmation of your placement at Hamilton (Gray St) Primary School via email between Monday 3 August and Friday 14 August 2026
Enrolment forms submitted after 31 June 2026 will be processed by our school as they are received, in accordance with the department’s Placement Policy.
